The process in more detail:

1. Apply online at the CCRC “Begin or Update My Application” link on ccrcca.org/apply. It takes about 10 minutes and asks for parent contact info, the child’s age and household income. Exact income isn’t needed at this stage, so a best estimate works. It’s available in English and Spanish, and the site also offers Armenian, Russian and Farsi.

2. Waitlist. Applicants are placed on a waitlist and contacted in priority order as openings come up. First priority is children receiving Child Protective Services or at risk of abuse or neglect, with a written referral from a legal, medical or social service agency. Next are income-eligible families. Ties are broken by: a child with exceptional needs, a primary home language other than English, then time on the list.

3. A case manager contacts you. The partner page says this can take up to 90 days (about 3 months). You’ll get an invitation by email or mail to submit proof of income. Visiting the office in person and calling to follow up can support your family's processing time.

4. Submit documents. Per the same page, you’ll be enrolled or denied within about 30 days of sending your pay stub.

5. Choose a provider during that 30-day window. Apple Tree University Preschool LIC #195700199.

6. Authorization. Once approved, you and your provider complete CCRC’s paperwork and CCRC authorizes the care and rate. CCRC pays the provider directly.

7. Keep up with paperwork. If required paperwork isn’t returned on time, services can be terminated and the family has to reapply. Parents are responsible for costs before the authorization date and after any termination date.

• Recent pay stub (proof of income)

• Child’s birth certificate

• Immunization records for children

• Proof of address (listed by a resource directory)

• Provider preference (Apple Tree University Preschool)

 

Good to know

• Approval lasts one year at the approved rate (per the partner page).

• Whether a family fee applies depends on income, so ask the case specialist.

• Documents can be uploaded through the form at ccrcca.org/parents/submission. CCRC asks for three business days of processing.
